@gupo12345 I would suggest educating yourself before putting any money into the stock market. There's a great 60 day Boot Camp at bullsonwallstreet.com and well worth the money. Trading penny stocks can be risky business.

I am a swing trader, long term investor...I started investing with a Motley Fool Special Ops subscription back in 2010-2011. I still consider myself somewhat of a newbie. I know the basics like support and resistance but I really need to learn more (gotta study Tim's DVD's). Coming from a long term investing newsletter has taught me to have patience. Cutting losses quickly sounds like a simple thing to do but sometimes I break my own rules and become an investor (or bag holder) rather than a trader. Update 3/11/15 : have since completed a Steve Nison candlestick course and a Bulls on Wall Street Boot Camp (I highly recommend both if you want to have a solid foundation).

I noticed you're from Canada... how much do you pay extra to trade on US markets? Did you open a US account?

My flat rate (BMO Investorline) for both U.S. and Canadian stocks is $9.99 per trade...I also have a SureTrader account.

So you pay the forex fees every time you trade?

No I don't pay forex fees because I trade U.S. stocks using american funds.
