I’ve been trying to learn about trading. I have an account with TDAmeritrade. Don’t have a broker. Made a few stock purchases before I found out about Timothy. I’m now wanting to make enough money to become one on his students. I’ve only been doing this for about 3 months. My stocks are USRM, NNOCF, and CRMD.

ARE YOU IN ANY CHAT ROOM? WHAT SERVICE DID YOU PURCHASE? WHAT STOCK BROKER DO YOU USE? DO YOU UNDERSTAND SHORTS? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TRADING?

I haven’t joined profit.ly on a paid membership as of right now because I was told it would be better to save my money to become a student. So I’m on the free version.

Nice start to my new small TD Ameritrade account, in at 5.45 out .68, will upload trade as soon as verified is available. Tim alerted the challenge chat with the following: 11:33AMTimChallenge timothysykes [Commentary] POTN bigtime morning panic, potential dip buy here in the mid .50s I noticed the support in the .50s range and grabbed small positions in my IB and new TDAmeritrade accounts, better hold in TDA account, but nice gain for both and help to seeing entry/exit on support/resistance to trade more comfortably and enjoyably. Set risk at .45 and let it sail along for a while.

@MichaelGoode I see you use IB. Do you find they have shorts available? I have TDAmeritrade and Etrade accounts and can never get shares to short which is very frustrating when you find good setups and can't take action. Don't have $50k for CenterPoint or $30k for Cobra. Mostly trading Nasdaqs >$1.

IB isn't as good as Centerpoint but they are better than Etrrade. TDA is just horrible.

Yeah I opened the etrade account specifically for shorting but so far am striking out. Might close it and try VenomTrading instead, which clears through IB. Hate to have to focus on long setups only, as shorts seem way easier to profit from. Thanks.

Yes, Venom Trading is another good option if you don't have the money for IB

@Arussell125 I see you use SureTrader. Do you find they have shorts available? I have TDAmeritrade and Etrade accounts and can never get shares to short which is very frustrating when you find good setups and can't take action. Don't have $50k for CenterPoint or $30k for Cobra.

Hey @Palmer ! How do you find TOS and TDAmeritrade when you want to short a stock? Do you usually find shares to short when needed? Any good or bad experience when shorting would be very much appreciated :)

You can add the HTB/ETB to the scan list headers to see if the stock is shortable...check video #3 here http://www.thepennystockquest.com/tosvideos1.html If a stock is HTB you can call to try to reserve shares..extra step but it can be done. I have been focusing on momentum trading lately so I have not shorted much in a while.

Thanks @Palmer . I've just implemented the HTB/ETB column :)
