I've had significant gains year to date from January (over 24K) but I've been bagholding several losers along the way. I've been trading since Sept 2020 and was down 10K at year end 2020 and made it all back plus profit in January 2021 and had big gains in Feb as well. Only 8 months into trading, I've been overall pleased with my progress as I had a losing month in March but big gains in April as I adjusted my trading to the market. Unfortunately, I took several poor trades in April and let them get away from me for big losses becoming a sad bag holder. and I have evaluated those tickers and came to the conclusion that I need to cut those tickers, take the big losses against my winnings and become more disciplined in my trading so I can realize becoming a consistently profitable trader. Hard lessons to learn here as I gave back about half my gains for the year in the last two weeks. Trying to stay positive, turn off the computer to do my taxes, and leave it off in order to study and get my head back in the game. I'm in this for the marathon, know that I am doing multiple things right, and want to weed out the things I'm doing wrong so I can stay in the game. I've been distracted with several household problems over the last month and find that I'm jumping in without a proper plan on tickers I've been watching, basically missing the move and buying spikes after the fact. Bad trading and I need to study up before I feel confident again. I'm sad right now, but believe I'm on the right track over all. The Challenge is a great community and I'm happy to be here. Goal for the year is to have a modest 24K profit for all my hard work and time.
You either win or you learn. You'll get back on the horse in no time, better than before.
