As I was checking out Peoples stats on the leaderboard I started to notice something that most of them have in common. Most of them their winning percentage is somewhere in the 60's percent range, Some as low as in the 50's percent range. But their average gain percent is anywhere from the low 8's all the way up to in the 15's. When I compare to my stats I have a winning percentage of 77.2%.But my average percent gain is only at 2.97%. So what does this tell me? It tells me that I am over trading and not waiting for the best possible setups.in other words, I am doing too much scalping. I am having too many little gains from going in and out of the same stock several times through its cycle. I have to start getting better at my entries and exits and let the chart play out. I have 3 accounts and I have no problem taking much bigger positions then I am doing. But I don't want to do that as of yet until I can bring up my avg % gain to a minimum of over 7% and get my average Loss % around the 2% range. or at least half of what my gain percentage is. when these percentages are in line that's when I will know that consistency has been achieved and then I can really start to scale up. So this will be my main focus for the rest of the month. I have to get those percentages up.
@PeteMcC0y Hey thanks man.
@Sanman Yes I'm sure it's a very common problem, I am just going to try and be more selective and see if that helps. Good luck to you overcoming this. I wish you the best. Let me know how you make out.
Thank you for your analysis on your stats. I will look forward to that problem when my trades (3 and counting) start to turn green. As always...thank you.
@asfricksrs Hey thanks for the feed back and best of luck to you.
