Don't get frustrated because you "missed a play". The MOST important thing is learning to recognize familiar setups and entry points. If you can do that you can write your own checks for years to come. Take your time getting really good at the mechanics - that's everything that matters right there.

@Turbobob ok thanks for input! ive been just looking at lower priced stocks due to having a small account at etrade. is it smarter to look at stocks higher in price even with a lower account?

My theory is you cannot spend % gains, only absolute gains. So, it is irrelevant to me what % gain a stock has when I trade. I only look at absolute numbers. YOu either take big positions on cheap stocks for small moves or small positions in big stocks for big moves. Most of the stocks I trade over $10. move $.50 to $1.00 per day.

Review how to make millions by Tim Sykes and Trade the Ticker by Tim Grittani. But your USD 500 will not cover that. What I do is review the risk levels on every trade. The lower the price, the higher the risk (or you need quick fingers). Nasdaq stocks move very fast!

Thus the lower positions I take. Because I notice that 4 dollar stocks are easier to manage (at break out / opening of the market) then 0.80 dollar stocks.
