What's your residency status if you don't mind me asking? I'm from the UK, but moved to US (am now a Perm. Resident). You should be issued a Social Security number (SSN) unless you are a minor (my kids have ITINs) or perhaps a student...(don't know about that one since it wasn't the path that I took).

@SanketJ im not too sure on the minimum but i opened an account about a year or 2 ago with only $1500 and it was quite easy from what i remember
I,m from Ireland, I,m having trouble getting my ITIN. Ameritrade (think or swim) is the way to go. No doubt. $2000 minimum. its worth it to save up the doubh, excellent platform

Well I started with trader checklist, then moved on with Tim Sykes DVDs. I was very fortunate to get them from a trader friend for a loan for as long as I needed. Iv been reading some books also. A good place to start would be 245 Money making stock chart set ups by Sasha Evdakov.
His DVDs are costly but well worth the investment. How to make millions DVD would be a good one for you to get.
You could also watch his youtube videos.Chat with traders.com is a great podcast show. Tim has been interviewed on it a few times. https://chatwithtraders.com/
Thank You!

Paper trade with fake money before doing it for real, you can learn from mistakes without losing a penny.
Who would you recommend for paper trade account??
@daviddolan66 I like TD Ameritrade's Think or Swim platform. Allows for both live and paper trading.
Thanks for the reply. Yes iv opened a TD Ameritrade account and Il be paper trading from tomorrow. Iv been watching Tim Sykes DVDs and doing theory now for the past few months. I think its about time I got my feet wet and jump in there. Thanks.
Watch Tim's Dvds, Level 2, Shorting, study charts plays, figure out what fits your personality. The typical normal week I'll study between 8-10 hours a day . If I'm not doing market research I'll read Tim's recommendation of books for technical analysis.
@Jason_Raposo I,v watched most of the DVDs, i,m watching Level 2 again and Trading tickers again too and half way through The Phychology of trading of Brett Steenbarger. I,m going to spent the next few months studying chart plays and catalysts.
@TYMTT thanks for that.
No problem
