Short stocks when you think they are going to bounce but are failing the morning spike that way you dont have to short overnight because it can spike the next day. get out when a stock isnt doing what you want like Tim with SYMX. okay to have scratches dont hold on and hope because a stock didnt do what you wanted it to do. Tim shorted AMCN with a small position because he was 20 cents late but his thesis was right and wanted to get a small piece of the profits.

Wow there are so many ways to play in the market it can be dizzying. One could choose to be an investor. One could choose to be a swing trader. One could be a day trader. One also has the option of going LONG in a stock, or going SHORT. The amounts of information that stream by you all day long is crazy. So here again today I find myself learning lessons in my losses. I began the morning recalling the stocks that I was intrested in Yesterday. $CRMD / $AXN I was mainly focused on $CRMD it had a hell of a run yesterday, and had deen doing nothing but going striaght up for I believe the past 4 days. This had me thinking short all the way. So how did my morning go you ask? Well I ended up with a long poistion in $AVEO. So $AVEO closed the night before in the 1.40's. It had jumped up premarket to 2.20. I look to the left, back in the charts history, and I see that the 2.00 range is actually a resistance range, and I watch as the stock drops down back the 1.60's here it seems to find support, and sure enough all of my planned out short thoughts on $CRMD are out the window. Keep in mind the market is looking weak at this point. So 9:30 hits and $AVEO drops. But only to this 1.60 support area. From there it begins to form higher lows, and that is where I Enter, at 1.77 with a .10 cent risk at 1.67 and a.20 cent target of 1.97. Again I remind you that the market is down. I however seem to have made a good call, as the stock is going up and headed towards my target. Sure enough it hits. I made a good call, Yay me!!!!!! However I don't take the profits. I don't because I have such a small account left, and I took such a small position that the profit would not cover the cost of the trade itself. therefore I stay with the trade. I am up I am watching it, and I am managing my risk. The end result, was I exited with no Profits and only the cost of entering and exiting the trade. Yes I continue to burn through my commisions. The real point of this rant, is for me to stop trying to do to much. Getting back to the beginning of this blog entry. I, still being a beginner, need to focus on 1 style of play. Just 1. From here on, till I become consistant. I will only be looking to go short. That could be a Parabolic Short, or the safer set risk on failed second atemp to hit the high of day now shorting a fader.
