WealthSimple emailed this chart from the Wall Street Journal that looked at the number of days in 2022 where the S&P 500 moved 1, 1 - 2%, or 2% or more.

 

VERY eye-opening because the number of dots for 2%+ were less than 50 out of the year.

In 2023, so far there have only been 2!! days where the market has moved 2%+ based on big news. The factor mentioned was automated trading... maybe... sure... but whoa. Nice reminder than anything over 3%? Maybe it's not great money (yet) with a small account but we're beating the overall S&P 500...
