@Jason_Raposo Definitely will do. I might add a little more time to paper trading then to get a betterm feel. Like i said, i slacked a little bit. But yeah, i like Tims techniques. Hopefully savev up enough one day for one of their dvds. and Oanda is another FX broker. They were one of the top when i seached and they required less capital. I do have a TD Am account as well so im practicing on both of em. Whichever i feel more comfortable with will get the first live account.

I've pretending that my livelyhood depended on it. Afterwards I did notice myself forcing plays which is so so destructive to my account. Long-term goal is to do the same just need a larger account then will be all set.

This is awesome and so encouraging. Because as you can see I share every trade. It helps keep me focused and humble.

The one downside to it is it has lower clock speeds which means as I said before, for quicker functions like games you might get let down. If you want a really good middle class processor, I suggest this: Intel Xeon E5-2609 (OEM/Tray) It has .6Ghz more than the last one, and is a fairly good CPU.

@KShim hey there, sorry for the slow reply. i dont pc game (i prefer consoles) so it would be for daily web browsing/watching youtube and of course stock trading. i use stocks to trade and trader workstation and profit.ly, so only 3 web apps. im sure the computer i built would be sufficient enough right? soon stocks to trade will integrate broker executioning so ill be down to just stocks to trade and profit.ly. thanks again for your assistance.

@KShim i forgot to mention that i currently trade on a 4 1/2 year old macbook pro using the same software and thats been running fine, which is my reason for building a cheaper build like the pc part picker list in my blog post.

Oh I see. I use ThinkorSwim which uses quite a bit of ram and about half of my processor. If you only plan to use web based systems you can probably get away with 16 gigs of ram no problem.

Not profitable just yet but on the right path here. Spikes are more likely with lower floats, under 10M is best. A stock needs a catalyst to move, but price action is king. If you look at the PM action, it peaked at 1.40 and then came down. It looks like it had a lot of volume PM ( I wasn't around), and when stocks trade that much PM it seems that the chart is still good. That being said, it looks like the move was over before the open and the only bullish play would be to wait for support to ho

for support to hold and the trend to reverse

@DapperDude That's exactly what I was thinking at the time: "This is a ton of PM volume, and the chances of it spiking at open are very good. PLUS there is a great catalyst. heck- its also a former runner. I dont know what went wrong with it. No bad news came out later as far as I know of.

@KShim Let me rephrase. I meant the chart being good as in you can rely on the chart as if the market were open. The premarket chart already showed the move being over. In this case I would have little hope for a mornings spike, maybe more like a morning bounce.

Well, from what I can see you may have been saved, but that doesn't really help explain why you can't make a trade. Your best bet is to contact IB because there is no apparent reason as to why you can't trade.

Trades made in a cash or margin account take T+3 days to settle. In a cash account, you have to wait T+3 days until you can trade. Margin accounts still take T+3 days to settle but overcome the restriction because a margin account is like a credit line you borrow from while the trades settle.

The IB platform should have T counter on it. Just enable it.

No it doesn't, you just need to hold stocks overnight or trade less...it forces you to become a better trader

Well I took the trade because it looked like the stock pattern was changing direction and it was holding 5.80 pretty solid ....Tim Sykes you are the man I watch you all the time but the pdt rule still sucks a person should be able to trade as much as they want

Knapp617
Knapp617 Nov 24, 16 6:15 AM

Not saying it won't make me a better trader

I would suggest that you check out Mathew Owens' Trading Around Equilibrium DVD, and trade futures. Futures have no PDT rule. My account is at 2600 atm and I can trade futures to my hearts content. Just be careful with them because money can leave your money fast with them. You also have to employ a different trading strategy with them, or at least alter Tim's strategy to trade them.

I also want to suggest this book called " trading for dummies" I went to the Sykes conference in Vegas last year and this book was recommended - I ordered the book and I will say that in addition to the videos great read!!! You can save money maybe seeing if at the library for use or order used on Amazon. The book was suggested by Superman Trades

As for as books go, my two favorites are "Market Wizards", and "Reminisces of a Stock Operator". Both were thrilling, and the later actually kept me on the edge of the my seat most of the way through.
