I put money into my trading account as 'market tuition'. It keeps account whole even if I lose some of it each month while trying to master the game. Feels better mentally than a 'blow up' all of it than reload. FWIW

Put in a fixed amount each month as 'market tuition'

I need to do that. Using current income to smash debt while I learn the market, but allocating a fixed amount each month will help it build up over time.

My new 5-rule plan: Rule 1: Don’t trade like a newbie. Rule 2: Cut losses quickly (defined by cutting at or prior to losing $0.10/share). Rule 3: Pick only 1-2 trades/day or less. Rule 4: Stick with the basic plan (find the best trade after-market and sell in the morning). Rule 5: Get over the FOMO!

I didn’t win today, by a long shot. I picked two stocks that looked like good runners. They tanked right out the door. However, I had ABEO on my watchlist, and it was making a solid run midday, so I bought it. I decided to hold since it was doing well. I’m looking to sell tomorrow. Hard choice though. It started it’s run at 8:40, peaked at two different points, and leveled out. I’ll certainly check the morning spike, but may hold until around noon.

Well, the good thing is I cut losses early this morning, so I’m only $70 down. The stocks I had continued to drop all day. This evening, I bought 200 shares of SVRE. First green day, solid spike at the end, several news pieces. Looking for that pre-market spike. If it looks good, I may look for the morning spike, but don’t want to hit that morning panic.

Wow! Down day today. I missed NRXP by minutes and had to sell on the down side. Apparently spikes happen at 6:15am now. Garbage! Well, trying again tomorrow, hoping for a better morning. Timing this stuff with a poop schedule is tough!

I was quite humbled on my $240 gain yesterday. I had watched all of @timsykes videos on the big loss and basically got scared. I realized That I need to be more disciplined and careful. If I do, I can do better. Well, I got complacent Friday. The first buy isn’t a bad one. I took Tim’s tipper and bought 300 NXRP based on the catalyst and the fact that the day’s chart looked a lot like the UCAR chart, so I’m looking for a nice pre-market play. Then I got dumb and greedy and bought 4 more based on similar reasons, using StocksToTrade. Forget being conservative, I used my entire tiny $1400 account. All will be pre-market moves, but I’m hoping to not blow the account up. Here we go.

Oh, the other 4 are AKTS, MDIA, ADCT, and ELAN.

KTOS gave me $0.25 this morning. However, UCAR spiked big in the pre-market before the red candle started hitting. I basically recovered a big chunk of my losses with 50 shares, making around $240 this morning. Now waiting for good weekend plays. Will have to buy after-market due to schedule.

Turns out I could’ve held KTOS a bit longer, but I sold UCAR at the right time, making just over $4 a share.

Well, made a bonehead mistake. I bought YEXT after looking at biggest gainers and higher highs on StocksToTrade. It looked to be breaking out and looked like it could spike in the morning. NOPE! Did a pre-market spike. I wasn’t able to check pre-market tod, and by the time the normal morning spike came around, YEXT tanked! However, not all was lost. I made the same sort of play on WLDS. Turns out it spiked and held before dropping later on. Overall, I made about a $14 profit. Looking for 2 morning spikes tomorrow on KTOS and UCAR.
