VSLR- WOWWWWWWWW. Up on rumor like news. An analyst thinks a buyout is coming some time soon. Do not be a latecomer if you haven't already profited on this trade. (See HTMM if you haven't. It's gold.) 29% shares short, and a float of 25.11M shares. Why was I not watching this? 96% of this stock is held by the big boys. Sorry guys, don't short against institutional buying power, this is how bad you can get squeezed. Watch level 2 and see who's on the other team. After the big run up on this stock, I can see a short all the way down to the daily chart's 20SMA, possibly a couple bucks per share. Wait for the first red day, like tomorrow, and then the smart shorts should pounce. I don't even short so if anyone reads this and banks, please slap me electronically.
UQM- Habit of breaking out and then consolidating as well as holding above the 20SMA. Perfect 10% gain on this one today while I was at work, not trading. This was a really clean breakout after a strong two month uptrend. Based purely on chart analysis, if it can dip, and consolidate near it's highs, I'd consider buying the multiday breakout at 95 cents, and looking for another 10% gain. The thing about the whole dollar breakout with this chart is that there is no resistance until 1.30 or 1.60 so it might rip to the upside. Decently low float of 44M. Volume today was only 633K shares, but I think it can get volume if it breaks the whole dollar mark. I'll be watching this one for a big 10-30 cent on a small position.
IMGN-Closed right near it's breakout level. Confident buy here. 30 cent profit target, based on price range and price action. Former runner. I'm pretty much sold on it already and I haven't even checked the news yet, but I have to be meticulous here, no sloppy mistakes. 81M float, 17%short. Watching for squeeze tomorrow. 6.7M in volume today. Up purely on technical catalysts. This would be pretty safe to enter and exit, as it's up on NO NEWS! I'm ready for the technical trader to come in and play the breakout big here. My worst case scenario is that it doesn't move or starts failing early, and I'd cut losses quickly.
I got my eyes on these as well as the stocks I was watching yesterday. 85% of a good trade is determined by the entry and your ability to cut losses quickly when they violate your predetermined mental/hard stop loss price point. Give the trade some time to work, but decide how much time is too much before entering so you don't get into hold and hope mode. Hope is not a strategy. And by the way, I'm talking to myself just as much as whoever reads this. I'm starting these watchlists as a way to build on my knowledge and consistently look at the market. Remember to never follow picks. Git Gud Fam.
