i learned the same thing about paper vs real. Its easy to put 5k in when its not real! My stomach dropped when i put my first trade of 1k though. haha.

Couldnt agree more. Dominated paper trading and as soon as I swapped over I starting stopping out whenever a trade went like 3 cents against me lol

Thank you for sharing, and teaching us newbies that when there's a loss, its not the end!

Lesson learned: EATING ALOT = TRADING SUCCESS!!! 5:30 - 6:30am: eating my first meal of the day. 8:30 - 11:00am: I like to eat again. 11:00am - 1:00pm: I'm eating again. For the rest of my day, I am eating.

I loved your Blog, very insiteful. I do something similar but also work a full time job so it is VERY hard to balance the two. Keep bloging as you seem grounded and in a similar mind frame as me soooo I will read you !!! BTW I personally dont like your icon...been running from violence and crap like that, just a bad time. Might you have a pic of you and that nice body, lol, or a puppy ??

well if you made the required trades for the quarter, im guessing until this quarter is up. look in the etrade alerts for the last time it said you qualified for etrade pro. The end date is probably the next quarter.

Using IB now, been about two weeks. Have the $10 real time feed but the phone ap doesn't update real time...which makes no sense. As far as ETRADE goes, haven't traded that account in about 5 or 6 month so that quarter was 'up' a while back..buuuuuuuuut there was an alert message saying they are extending my EPro status for another quarter, guess they want me back...thanks digibrass....

it could spike again because earnings winners can spike more than once or there could be a short squeeze. It has held its gains nicely so i dont see a panic tomorrow. Wait for price action if you want to short this pos but dont underestimate earnings winners and stupidity

I agree with TBEKG...you have to simply trade the stock, or any stock (trade not invest) per what the reaction is right now. What is it doing right now, not where HLX was when it was almost $50. IT would take A LOT to get this stock back to where it was. If you think it will, buy $500 worth and forget about it for a long time. Trade it now with 500 shares and make more in the next 10 minutes than you would in the next 10 months. It's all about the now...

makes sense and thanks for the feedback. I think people will realize this picture is bad and dump the spike

i agree with the above posts. the first thing that came to my mind was how Tim talks about the company not mattering...only what people think about the company. I apreciate your insights. I'm getting a lot of good info from following traders like you (high win %.) :]

mistakes give you lessons that is true, however I don't think you've watched the DVDs. The mistakes you made are all in the dvd, and just out of curiosity, why do you want to make money trading stocks? I hope Bora Bora is not your motive, because chasing money for a fancy life is pathetic.

Bora Bora is a symbol. And, fun fact for you, criticizing others on what motivates and encourages them to succeed, just because it isn't your vision, is pathetic.

Thanks for posting this. It's helpful getting inside your thinking. I'm a little confused, though. In the first example it looks like you got in and out at about the same price. You lost $200 on it?!?

That's why I had to zooom in the price so much. Even though it was stuck in a range, that range was about 40 cents up/down. Those first fwe spikes really skewed the look of the chart. If you can go back on that day you will see what I mean. Thanks for commenting!
