Entry comments: PDS 396/395 expiry tomorrow. Protection trade for my swing calls. Risking $14 at expiry if SPY goes up. If it drops again I will make around $80 max profit to help cover any losses from my calls. Trying a cheaper, safer strategy, cuz I might not get lucky again like yesterday.
Exit comments: Market went up so my long trades were safe. I just let this one expire worthless EOD.
Entry comments: DPI BA $50, I bought this call contract cheap enough that I can hold until it expires and only lose my set loss of $54. I'm giving it 2 months to work, target is 50-100% ROI. Tastyworks
Exit comments: Sold this one when the SPY pulled back midday. Decided I wanted to take my profits off the table before decay started to really speed up.
I have 5 call positions open for long term swing trades. I had a feeling we might be getting a pullback on the market within the next few days, so I took Stef's advice to put on protection. I bought this cheap put contract right before market close which would only cost me $53 if I had to let it expire worthless. DANG, flash crash O/N netted me a 128% ROI! My calls didn't even lose much money after SPY came up. I'm down on 2 trades, and not by a lot, but up overall with the hedge. Tastyworks
Right after my successful o/n hedge trade, I decided to go back in on the SPY using the BB level of 395.94. I let it test 3 times and waited for the candle to close below the level, which is my entry signal. SPY started to take another dive, but I had to cut the trade at 30% ROI since I had to get my daughter to school. Tastyworks.
I bought these MARA puts as a hedge for my crypto portfolio. It looked like BTC was going to pull back, and I wanted to preserve my $1500 in profits in all my crypto wallets. Turns out, I didn't have to worry about it. Not sad at all about losing the $70 in insurance to keep those profits safe. Tastyworks
