Thursday’s Trades
IPI – Bought this fertilizer stock when it went green at $3.60. Got scared and exited for a gain at $3.74 average. Plan was the $3.80’s. Was going to re-buy on the 10:20 dip but didn’t trust it.
GRPN – Bought this tech stock on the 10:00 dip risking g/r. Exited for a loss but the theory was right as it bounced lower and went on to test HOD.
Today’s Trades
OSUR – Medical equipment stock that broke ATH’s yesterday on earnings, holding its gains nicely into the close. Net income for 2017 so far is 3x higher than the same period in 2016. Held above $20/share well most of yesterday but in the past has struggled to have decent day 2’s after a big green day. So as much as I like this chart and fundamentals I’ll only enter with volume if it breaks yesterday HOD probably risking G/R.
DVAX – Big $2 afterhours crash yesterday on news that the FDA requires more information on how DVAX plan on monitoring the safety of their drug after its release. After it’s huge gap up and hold I’ll be watching to see if this negative news brings a bigger correction into market hours today. I’d be interested in a short if this dropped below a/h low of $15/share. (Still an earnings winner so I’m cautious)
CORT – Biotech that’s up on earnings and held them into yesterday. Volume’s dropped a little but if this can break another ATH of $14.63 I’d be interested in this continuing. But I’d want strong volume and a tight risk as this is already up $2/share.
FIT – While I do like fitbits this isn’t a chart I like. But I can’t ignore the earnings, volume, big move and the fact it held its gains. Ideally I’d be looking for a weak open with a r/g move. I don’t see myself risking more than 10-15 cents on this if I do enter, as I’d be looking at 30 cents gain best case.
VG – Very similar to FIT as it’s not a chart I really like but it’s had a big move on earnings so I’m not going to ignore it. But a weak open and grind back r/g is probably the only way I’d enter and again on a tight risk as 15-30 cents here is a good gain considering it’s daily ranges.
Thanks Paul
Waiting for GRPN to drop to low 3's
