I went to The Tim Sykes Trading Summit in Miami this week. I got my motivation back. I had really lost it this year when my husband fell sick and then passed in July. I actually made 3 of the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. 1) Sized up my contract size 2) Attended the conference 3) Changed my work schedule to Graveyard shift so I can trade more. I have issues sometimes trading at market open, as I am still at work. But I can make swing trades easily at power hour EOD. I've been working on a Credit Spread strategy so I don't have to worry about closing the trades I make. I can't make any home runs doing this, but as Tim says, singles add up. I will probably write a blog this weekend which will go over my goals in more detail. I finished uploading all of my trades as well. I had let my journal go for a LONG time!

I'm really glad you went to the conference and am really glad we could reconnect. I'm happy that you are working your plan and I'm going to start doing the same and getting myself going in the right direction again.

@StefanSchwarz13 I started using an app on my phone called "Structured" for time management. So far it's working well at keeping me on track during the day.

I’m so sorry Stefan! It’s a great learning experience for you and for other traders tho, thank you for sharing! FYI it’s even more dangerous to short low priced stocks, so I wouldn’t start shorting there. I remember Tim saying that you can lose a lot very fast if it goes the wrong way.

@LibertyBelle Thanks Liberty! Yes, a great learning experience. I'll have another post with my trade information once I get out of this stock tomorrow. I found tonight you can't trade pre-market on ToS starting at 4 am. It starts at 7 am. Hopefully the stock won't have enough volume to shoot up during the initial p/m hours.

Ouch! Shake it off, and concentrate on your setups and you'll be fine. It is a learning process and the longer we stick with it and learn, the better we will be in the long run. I would bet our mentor millionaires had weeks like this too!!

Accountability post 04/03/2021-06/13/2021 Well, there's not too much trading accountability for me during this time period. I was planning on taking a trading break for two weeks, because I got hired back to my old job temporarily for an out of town project. The project ended up lasting an entire month, and when I got back, I found it really difficult to get back into the groove. I start back up at my old job next week on a permanent shift, so I revamped my schedule to accommodate trading again. I am starting back on graveyard shift, so I will have time to practice in the markets for the most part. I'm still driven to succeed at this. I am not happy with how my company treated me during the pandemic after I gave them 23 years of my life. I will never feel secure there. I still have a tentative goal of 5 years to become a full time trader. Hopefully it happens sooner. I haven't been listening to any podcasts or audiobooks lately. I'm planning to start doing that again over the next two weeks. I'm still reading "The Psychology of Trading" by Brett Steenbarger. Slowly like a turtle! I ditched "The Great Crash" by Selwyn Parker. I completely lost interest in it. I started reading "Atomic Habits" by James Clear instead. It's a much easier read. I signed up for a 1 day boot camp with Stefanie Kammerman, The Stock Whisperer. It had some live trading and an education on how to use the dark pool data to find trades in listed stocks. It was very informative, and I am excited to incorporate this tool into my trading. If I can find some success, I will probably join one of her chatrooms. I really enjoyed her teaching style, and I love the fact that the emphasis is on education instead of profits. Sometimes I feel like profits are too large of a focus in Sykes' and his students' programs. I really don't care if Jane Doe made $20k on a trade. I'd rather learn how to trade. I got some help with my anxiety issues during this break, and I am curious to see what happens on my next trading day. I feel a lot more balanced, and I'm hoping that it turns me in the right direction in my trading. I plan on doing more trade reviews in the future, maybe I will even step out of my comfort zone and do a couple of videos. We will see what the future holds!

We are kind of in the same boat but in different circumstances. I wish you all the best rejoining your company and getting back to work. I, too, will be doing the same and have had been difficulties focus on trades lately with lack of time due to returning to the office days starting tomorrow and settling on my new condo this Friday. I, too, have a goal of retirement by 60, if not before, and will need to be a self-sufficient trader before then. After listening to the Crypto Rockets bootcamp

Thanks @artofwarEH3. Great analysis of the big picture. The $VTNR trade really helps with the R/G play strategy I'm trying to wrap my head around and work on.

I'm curious what you are looking at to determine your nightly watchlist. For me I'm looking at multi-day runners that have had a history of running in the past. I'm looking at big percent gainers, but trying to stay away from one day spikers unless they've had a history of running in the past. Since I'm learning my craft like you are, I'm trying to gain as much knowledge from other traders as much as I can.

@StefanSchwarz13 big % gainers, multiday runners. Multiday runners off their highs. Ya I don't want 1 day runners but I'll watch them for several days to see if they set up for a breakout.

@TessaLamping Thanks Tessa! I bought a stock into the close today, big percent gainer, former runner. Just wanted to try something out based on strong news. Could have been pumped, so I have a plan for the morning after the opening bell.

@RedHalo Give it time, there is a lot of material and Tim and all of the other mentors want us to learn and they are pulling for us as long as we put in the time studying and the effort. Though I work full-time and once I'm back in the office I cannot watch the market, I can still study and still listen to some of the videos (the ones I can access), but I can also read. I'm always doing something to learn each and every day, even if I cannot put 15 hours in. Most days I'm studying 1-2 hours.
