Profit/Loss:
Down $17.00 this week on 2 red trades and 1 green trade
Thoughts:
Will do a year in review post mid-week, next week. Still experimenting with mid-caps, finding it difficult to find consistently reliable patterns in mid-caps but i still have many ideas i want to test out. If none of those pan out i suppose i will have to take an entirely different approach and be primarily discretionary. There were more opportunities this week than last week, especially friday was pretty nuts. Maybe small caps are coming back, maybe not, definitely too early to tell but january is historically an active month. Issues this week were primarily with sizing i'd say. I told myself i would scale in one bite at a time instead of bigger chunks and really feel out the trade, thats going to take some time getting used to for sure. But its a better strategy as far as i can tell because it allows you to add size in accordance with your confirmation signals in the trade. Was very tired friday morning which was part of the problem. VTVT i'd made a nice trade but left so much on the table and was an easy read for that 10:30 run. So something im going to try is if im up on the morning, ill take easy scalps that i see later in the morning risking only some of the profits. Maybe a 3rd.
Lessons:
- Feel out a trade by taking small size, scaling in with multiple orders when you see confirmation signals.
- If you're up on the morning you can risk some profits on easy scalps later in the morning/mid-day
