Super newbie here, trying to learn more and more every day! After reading blog posts, watching hours of videos and exploring the stock markets, I finally figured out what a stock screener is. It was frustrating watching videos and listening to the gurus talk about making watch lists by narrowing down stocks when I didn't even know how to find stocks worth looking into. Enter the stock screener, which is an awesome tool that lets you filter down stocks based on specific criteria of your choosing. So far, the two free screeners I've had a chance to play with are:
OTCMarkets
TradingView
My favorite is TradingView right now. My nightly filter criteria, for the time being, is as follows:
Change %: Above 10
Volume: 3 million - 30 million
Last Below Value: 5
What screener(s) do you use? What fields/values do you find useful when trying to find some research-worthy stocks? What are your search parameters?
I recently purchased a one month subscription to Trade Ideas. It is a market scanner that has many different option settings built in for the trader to create their own scans and be able to trade tickers based on their own personal style. So far, I'm having difficulties adapting to this new tool but I think it's a great tool, once I completely learn how to use it. I'm also considering stockstotrade, which is still my number one platform to use, except it is currently too expensive for me to purc
I used to subscribe to Trade Ideas and found myself adjusting settings too much. Could have made the same choices using bar chart.
