@timothysykes How do you stay disciplined and keep emotions out of trading? Any specific methods you use to help you cope? Or is it an experience thing? I understand the strategy well and I know what the right setups are from the wrong ones but its always something mental I think holding me back. I study hard and have the right mindset going into each trade its just something in my brain mentally not working.. I think its a lot self discipline but how do you develop that? How do you become disciplined and take emotions out of trading? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks for all you do.

Know your entry, target, and stop loss before every trade. Dont get greedy once hitting your target, dont pray to get lucky if it hits your stop loss, always follow the rules you set before going into the trade. If your reading the charts correctly you should be right more then your wrong, and if you follow your rules, you will profit.

first optt isnt an oil play. they help make stuff to unclog pipes for oil but they arent tied to the price of oil. second the news is fluff news. they basically announced that they are going to work with another company which isnt even listed which listment doesnt matter but hard to value it since we can see anything with private companies. so wouldn't be anxious to jump in because of that. the long term chart isn't great. its not completely terrible but not good either. Todays been slow and the

If overall market continues downtrending this week, NOTHING worse than a fakeout breakout to lure in all the momentum buyers only to blow them up, reminds me of PULM late Friday and afterhours before this week's crash

amen to that. learned that lesson a few weeks buying a fake out breakout. wasn't even remotely tempted to buy DRYS at 3.85 once it technically broke 3.80. proud of myself. HAS TO BE CONVINCING/CONFIRMED!!

@NoviceUnicorn this was right at the open when it couldn't break the day high. Was a decent buy once it did finally brake the highs at 3.9-4ish but didnt play it. fast mover and a big pile of garbage that was mostly mid range after that which is unpredictable. more interested on short side

@CAGUIRRE multi day, multi month, yearly charts. check as many timeframes as possible. just looking to see if the stock has a history of breaking out easy or gets toppy or if it takes a few tries to breakout. use long term chart to find the days its spiked and broke out big then look look for a chart on that day by entering in the date. should be easy to find exact dates if using daily charts.

After looking at your $TBIO trade i see the entry should have been at 1.15 on the bullflag near the 9ema, thats your lowest risk, all depends on what time frame your on and the pattern its forming, this one is in a higher low triangle pattern

@Arussell125 yeah I waited until 1.25 right where the breakout was and since it had tons of volume it was choppy and when it did retrace back down down I got scared out. If I was already in earlier like 1.15 and it came back down I probably would have been faked out or at least gave it more time which is this case I would have been right because after that little fade into the close it gapped up and spiked the next day
