OK so this is my first post writing about my trading day, but I'm hoping that I go through this I'll figure out some options that can convert a day like this to a win. Overall I was down $1885.31 on this ticker today.
Trade 1: Bad entry, why di I enter towards the top of the channel? The pattern broke down right after the trade, I held a bit to long, this was clearly out of the channel. Fix entry, cut on busted patterns quicker.
Trade 2: Bounce entry here isn't bad, a slight chase but not bad. Exit on this trade was poor. I sold at what turned out to be the bottom of this channel, part of this was the way I had the charts drawing, they were rather flat, I figured out how to change that setting during the day. hold, let the pattern play out.
Trade 3: Entry is meet of the move here, not bad but not good either. The eit was good for cutting losses quickly, the pattern I was following busted and I was out when it broke. Better entry would have prevented this trade or made it more profitable.
Trade 4: Entry was a tad higher than ideal, but after taking so man hits on the earlier trades I cut losses quick, this touched just outside my trading channel and I was out. Let the pattern play out, cutting to quick here.
Trade 5: Awful entry, I realized I had jumped out way to quick, so now I chased to get back in, it worked out as this exit was ok, could have held a few ticks longer. Fix entry, don't chase, wait for the pattern to provide the entry.
Overall
Bad entries make bad trades
Charts not displayed consistently the same way (sometimes it looked like the stock was trading flat when it was actually going up can be a problem with the decision making process).
Once the chart pattern was trading up a;; of my entries would have been profitable had I just held the trades, cutting losses quick is good based on the inner channel trading pattern, but I also need to look at the entire days chart to see if there are any patterns to support staying in for the trade.
