That's a big problem I have too, is knowing when to stop out early, and when to hold on to my stop. I feel the same way, for as many times as I've stubbornly held, *knowing* it was going to stop out for a bigger loss, I've had instances where I've been scared out, only for it to turn around and make a great play.
@Lyoness It's a balancing act. For me, I'd rather stop out than miss out but doing both is a b-word. I think the most important things are identifying key levels and sticking to them. Then, of course, listening to what the chart is saying - not out of concern, but out of a desire to play the price action the best way possible.
great quote, good luck with the project
I do my watchlists on google sheets. (I guess I do everything there), then I like to do my calculations for # of shares to purchase/sell right next to the list. Thanks for the list!
@Lyoness oh hey! there's a thought. the price/share calculation. I like that.
Really nice analysis here. I have only ever held one trade overnight, and it didn't go the way I wanted, and while I could trade premarket, the liquidity was so low and the spread so large that it was just terrible. I feel your pain! I noticed yesterday that TTOO had gapped up after hours and I thought it had a chance to run too. I guess there was too much overhead resistance.
@Lyoness totally. lotta downward pressure. i guess all those jerks who held from 2.20 wanted out early. thanks for all the comments! c:
I don't understand your full strategy, but I agree, it's frustrating to realize that while you're preoccupied with one stock, others are moving without you. I've been unable to crack otc's, but I wish you best of luck! PRTY wasn't on my radar, even for a breakout there, because it had resistance around 3.33 as I read the daily chart. Then again, I also have not cracked any long strategy at all, so I don't have much to add there.
@Lyoness basically, my thesis was that if it broke the 10 day high, it would have room to 3 and 3.30. If it broke there, it has the gap fill. It's not dead by any means - and stranger things have happened. It just didn't have the volume it needs to really push. Still watching.
haha i didnt even see your post before i posted mine on PRTY,, cool to see we were thinking the similiar idea!!! get to that bag!!!
The MBA is strikes 2 and 3 right there. All MBA's know how to do is run companies into bankruptcy and then grab their executive bonus!! Loved the evaluation!
Your post of the "W" of sadness just saved me from a bad trade today on PSV. Thank you!
@prosperoustoday I am immensely pleased to hear it.
