@johs1992 Hi. Did you set up an account with Suretrader? Just wondered if it was a straightforward process as I am also a non US resident and looking to open a trading account. Cheers
@DerrickJL hello do you suggest start with Suretrader with 5k of capital for a non us resident? Please help I want to start trading this year I've been studying an entire year for this
@johs1992 just became a fully transparent trader today!
Hi, I show here the impact of SureTrader fixed commissions on 2 trades opened and closed with 400 shares (400+400). Using BATS the rebate lets you pay $0 in Total (400+400). Using EGDX I paid $2.40 (400+400), 1.2 to short + 1.2 to cover the trade. Total Suretrader Commission $19.80 on a realized of $56. A LOT! With 400 shares you need 3 cents of profit to cover the overall commissions costs. But eanyway each cent gives to you $4 then looking for a 20cent/share of profit, you get good money. SecFee and NasdFee are in any case cheaper. But realize $56 with 2 trades, to get only $33.63 or Net profit is not so good. Trade 500 shares as minimum is definitely better, if you can do it. Only 2 cents/share to cover the costs and the risk of loss doesn't get a large impact by commissions.
do you suggest to start with Suretrader with 5k of capital and when the account grow switch to other broker? please help I want to start trading but I don't have too much capital thanks
200 shares of ARNA cost me a total of 32 cents in fees at http://bit.ly/InteractiveBrokers
flat rate commissions are hard for begginers to trade with imo per share is best unless trading huge size
