As for why $SGMO is up, you've not done enough fundamental research into the field. I would strongly suggest you watch *all* of Martin Shkreli's "This week in ..." videos https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8gjB1PSXv_oAUSAQ16S0fA/videos and then you should be able to understand why this was such a bad play right now
Thank you everyone! Yes it was a terrible rookie mistake. I got out at 8.05. $750 loss, hurts but better than losing more.
It gaped down today on public offering news. It will probably go down tomorrow. But it's part of the trading you never know when it happens
Yeap, the daily chart going back to the start of June shows no real signs of a good short setup. Even at the highs today, it was heading towards a 52-week breakout so you'd be reckless to try and short there. The S-3 was made effetive 06-09, but it was replacing the previously expired S-3 from 2014, so there was no practical way of guessing an offering so soon. While that might have prevented me from going long, I don't think there were any signals to short before the offering was announced.

is very tricky to trade. But again, if you want to get in pre-market on these plays...go in with a lower share size and see how things play out. GLYC will certainly not be the last runner like this, there is always another one. Don't let other posters get you down either by posting how much they banked while you were being patient. How many times have you heard Tim buy pre-market? Check his account balance. $SORL much more of a controlled price move..earnings winner testing a breakout with cons
consolidation and volume leading the way...much more control there. Let price action come to you and don't chase. Use the pre-market high as a possible entry point, on a break to get in or during a dip at the open, price holds then swings back up to the pre-market high for a break...get in on the swing up and go from there.

to short sell..just use sell and as long as you dont have any postions it will automaticall short sell your postion..same with buy to cover
Ok, thank you. Just wanted to be sure it would do what I want since it doesn't say it verbatim on the phone app.
on tradeking (now ally) it's asking to accept "hard-to-borrow" fees disclaimer etc. what does that mean? Do all brokers have a fee like that?

ICCC: not tradable because of extremely low volume. TOPS: low float shipper that can really spike with other tickers in the sector. Would have been a good short after the split. Bacburner as it can easily spike again. PDEX: I would avoid because of low volume. Has spiked in the past. Close to a breakout, but already quite overextended. Probably need some consolidation before it can go further. Could also be a short into a double top. But again, volume makes it untradable
TEAR: beaten down chart, but with a double bottom it spiked a little. The best play was probably the b/o yesterday from the double bottom, and maybe short the overextended morning spike.
I agree with @hr_tetra we trade penny stocks not invest in them so short-term only. ICCC and PDEX have no volume. Only trade stocks with volume and a catalyst eg news, multi-day/week/month/year breakout. TOPS is downtrending now but it can spike on news so keep it on your watchlist. TEAR I think the move is over as it closed right at its lows.
thanks everyone. that helps a lot.

@radkan just became a fully transparent trader today!
@Emertrader thanks!
Very Cool
Perfect strategy , you don't have to worry about the PDT rule this way
You bought MSDI around 1:00 and not 3:00 or 4:00 is because the stock market closed early that day, at 1:00. Nice video.
