I've honestly been running solid plays. My trades reflect that now. No need to hold. I keep avg down to a minimum.
I screen for high volume/news, basically anything that propels the stock into play. Could even be something as simple as stepping up production of a certain product or even a buyout refusal. There are many.
Once I have a stock in play, I begin looking at all the bells and whistles (indicators). If there's honestly something I see that I don't like, I probably won't buy in. Doesn't mean I'll stop watching it.
***IMPORTANT NOTE***
-Now, if I do have a position on something and it's showing weakness or signs of a possible reverse trend, I'M OUT. CUT YOUR LOSSES. Perhaps you didn't find the bottom and took too big a position? I've done that alot. DON'T DO THAT. lol
Turn up the volume! There has to be a decent amount of volume. If it's something that traded like 127 million shares on the intraday, but has an average of like 235,000 I'm NOT messing with it. I've been caught in a position with ZERO liquidity before. Pretty scary. No shares to buy, sell or short LOL.
I have so much more to say, teach and offer but I'll leave you with this. Do NOT let other people influence your decision. If you truly want to be a successful trader, don't let chatrooms and/or comments freak you out. Yes, there are instances where a comment or msg can help or has more truth to it than others, but BE CAREFUL. Chats can be fun though for sure. The ONLY and I mean ONLY alerts I'll follow are Tim's. He's just too good at what he does. Learned alot from him for sure.
DON'T GIVE UP. That's even more important than being GREEDY. In the darkest of times, just take a step back and study more. Believe in yourself and help others. Always remember where you started...
