Just like life, there are many levels in sports that you must go through in order to reach the state of actualization. Let’s take the NBA playoffs for an instance. As you go toe to toe with one team, you learn about the game, you learn about yourself, and perhaps you get past the first round, and you feel invincible! For those who may be getting past the first round for the first time, you may feel elated and think to yourself, on to the championship! However the second round holds many other obstacles that you have yet to experience.
This long drawn out analogy is exactly what I am going through with my trading. I am finally breaking past old obstacles, but what I was not aware of was that the new ones on this new level are even more challenging. Trading is a never ending breakthrough of levels that you must go through and you cannot skip ahead. You must master each level.
I got ahead of myself and started thinking too much about my P&L after receiving some success, and sometimes success can be worse than failures. You see with failures, you get time to lick your wounds and ponder about where you went wrong, and your flaws are throbbing at you like that dudes foot in ‘I'm Gonna Git You Sucka’ (look it up if you have never seen the movie, lol).
However when you win, you feel as if you are Bradley Cooper from limitless when he first takes the pill, and trading is now going to be easy peasy for you. You already know the saying, pride comes before the fall. I am going to spend the rest of the weekend focusing on keeping an even keel mindset and focus on one trade at a time to ensure that I do not get ahead of myself. Good luck trading guys!
I meant $4,166.06
@Lgrm321 hahaha. It is not easy Luis, but when you really want something, and you are thinking about the longer term, this is just a minor setback. I will get all of that money back plus more in due time. However like I stated, I cannot focus on the money, I have to just focus on the process and make sure that I am following my plan.
I totally understand what you're saying! I'm finally starting to stay humbled, even after a big win. Your ego gets such a boost after a good trade, that you think you can handle the world. Have to take it one trade at a time. Just stay in the game and you will succeed!!!
@Khermus Exactly right bro! LOL! Checking that ego is so important! Thanks man, with hard and dedication, we will definitely make it!!!
