@timothysykes looking to open an account - looking to put in $30-40k or so, but will probably only put about $3-$5k in play as I learn (no need to play fast and loose and blow it up). From what I gather I should be opening a margin account, >$25k to avoid PDT, I know you have mentioned Etrade and IB, trying to determine best place to open acct. A user friendly platform would also be a nicety. Trading days will likely be sporadic due to work schedule, primarily looking for trading on my vacations if that makes a difference in a recommendation. Thanks Tim.

@kroyrunner Just a newbie and want to start things right by establishing good habits and keeping an effective journal. Appreciated your excel file discussion at end of TT Disc 1. Would you mind sharing the format if you have an excel based journal for your executed trades.
