I looked back on my trades so far to see if I notice any trends and I have concluded I need to double my position sizes to ~500 at the very least. Commissions eat me alive already and in order to overcome that and really have a chance at growing my account I need to increase my position size. I'm having lots of fun learning, though I have my self-doubting days. As someone with a naturally analytical personality trading really is for me and the more I learn the more I see that.

Still studying during market hours and then some. Still papertrading. Small losses when I blindly listen to the people in the chatroom, lesson is to do your own homework and only play what you know/feel comfortable with. Watched HEMP all day yesterday, understood it, bought into the strong close and sold into morning spike for about ~300 profit, but shorted immediately after by TOTAL ACCIDENT and lost ~100. Lesson: cancel a sell order before putting in another lol. Rookie mistake. Losing some of my profit by total accident really pissed me off, I tried buying into some dips to make up for it but it was emotional and lost a bit more. Lesson: don't play emotionally. Profits still a bit under ~200 so I'm going to accept that, log off and study.

Another mistake I tend to make is watching too many stocks at once. Bad mistake. I'm only a beginner so it gets overwhelming quickly and I don't have the experience to be focusing on more than one play at a time, it just increases my risk imo. I need to remember to stick to one or two plays (that I feel I understand well) a day and if they don't go in my favor, let it go and move on.

After several months of skeptically studying a few of Tim's DVDs on-and-off, reading/watching free blog posts and videos (as well as some of his students', i.e. Asheya Burton & Michael Goode), I finally signed up for Tim Alerts and a paper trading TOS account a few days ago. Been getting the hang of the TOS program and have set several trades. I don't feel like I have it mastered yet (obviously) but I understand it more and more every day. First trade was ASTC with $32 profit (I have absolutely no trading or finance experience or even knowledge before I found Tim Sykes), very exciting despite it being small & paper trading. I've been trying to make my own watchlists and cross-referencing with Tim's but my picks never match his. I understand his reasoning behind his picks so that's great but I feel I still have a lot to learn with the research process. I feel I understand technical analysis pretty well and the few things I don't I'm confident I'll learn in the next month tops. It's only 11AM, I made a few trades (couple of mine, couple of Tim's) but the overall market seems to be bearish today so I cut my losses quick for a total loss of $92. Disappointing but it pushes me to study some more so that's what I'm planning on doing for the rest of the day and the weekend. Note: I'm only taking ~$200 positions at a time since I'm going to have a small account when I start trading and I want this learning experience to be as realistic as possible. Feeling good so far on this journey; I can finally say I now trust Tim and his strategy fully which will allow me to study doubt-free which was pretty burdensome these past several months.
