How do you know when to make an entry point? That seems to be my biggest problem right now

I saw teh pull back and one green 5 minute uptick, I waited for a second 5 minute green uptick, after that I bought. If it failed I would have got out at the bottom of the first green up-tick. Also it looked like a good entry point as the bottom of the first green uptick after the opening pull back looked like a fair entry point.
