As soon as these halt plays start to go red, that's usually the turning point so I got short quickly and exited after another halt. Update: I got lucky on this. This is not a reliable strategy whatsoever as I recently got burned shorting XCOM. If you're going to short low float runners, you must wait for clear downside to form first.
