Even though I seem to be taking tiny little profits, I am actually looking for bigger profits, smartly. One advantage tastyworks brokerage provides is option trades are only $1.00 to open and $0.00 to close (unlimited size). Stocks are a little more, $5.00 to open and $0.00 to close (unlimited size). Because of this pricing I can still eke out a tiny profit to a scratch without the commission's eating all my profits. Last year, I was with TDA and my commissions were so high that they overtook my profits, ending the year in a loss. So far, in all my years of trading, 22 years, I have never been able to make a profitable year. In my first few years, I was always a losing trader, always. Then I read a book by Bill Williams, Trading Chaos, and that was the last year of my losing streak. Since then, I have not been able to break above being a break-even trader. I don't lose money, but I don't make money. Basically, I pay a small fee for my trading hobby...LOL!! This year, 2017 may be different...because I am retired now, as of April 22, 2017, and I seem to see things a bit differently....not sure yet, but I feel better!! :)
