@parabol128 hey man long time since we last spoke ....got a question for you though....any idea how I can get pre market fills on OTC stocks.....if you could contact me via email that would be great .... Tx again. ....mtakourian@gmail.com
Most brokers would allow you accessing ARCA route premarket
@parabol128 Congratulations ... You achieved and surely passed the $400K :)
@parabol128 I continue to be impressed with the low risk on your trades. Can't get seriously hurt with this kind of account management.
Thanks dude. Flip side is you can't score big either. With liquidity increasing sep-dec I'll start (gradually) increasing position sizes and risk
@parabol128 hey there. i like reading your blog bro, always got some great stuff on it. mind i ask if you still recommend prepromo for beginner traders, even though the otc markets haven't been as great as it was earlier in the year and you have been trading more liquid stocks?
only justed noticed this, sorry; there has been *some* action in prepromos recently, hopefully September will bring more volume and more prepromo setups; as for otc vs more liquid markets, it's also a question of whether you're full time or not; if you're a full time trader i'd recommend the more liquid markets, otherwise otcs are more manageable for a part timer imo
it's fine, not a problem. i see. for me, i'm going to be a part time college student. Mind I ask why you personally think OTCs are more manageable for the conventional part timer? i mean, i understand that full timers can be at the desk, trading that liquidity any minute, but what about OTCs? wont the illiquidity affect the profit/loss a lot?
well if we're talking about pre/promos, then the way they (used to) work, you could initiate a long position and not have to monitor it too closely, at least not until the promotion is official and more volume flows in
which makes it more friendly to part-timers
@parabol128 Hey man. How long you been at this? How much capital did you start out with?
Sorry, just noticed your question from last week - I've been doing this since 2009, started with $40k. Full time since January '14.
@nicoalvi just became a fully transparent trader today!
@parabol128 welcomes you to their trader wall!
Hi Parabol. I like your strategy. I feel hightly identificated with it. I'm reopening my account at IB. I used to daytrade from 2003 to 2005. At that time I used Tradestation as charting software, as IB doesn't have good charting apps. Can you reccomend another charting App? Which one do you use? Regards,
I use IB for charting, I agree it's not perfect ... I hear NinjaTrader connects to IB and is pretty decent but I have no experience using it myself
Hi Parabol, I wanted to ask you a few questions via email/PM, could you follow me on twitter so I may PM you? @Alvareznicholas
you're welcome - haven't been here in a while, hence the late repsonse ...
