Finally got back into trading last night. Account is maxed and I'm not effected by the PDT rule *cheer*. Unfortunately they didn't reactivate my Margin ability so couldn't short. Wanted to do so on $ADNC as it died 40c. Watched VLTC but it spiked after I went to bed. Hard to read though so I gave up on it. Signs point to up but was choppy. $CHOP was on my list. Dodgy Chinese company. It also died a bit. $MNOV (bio) last on my list but dropped under $5 so pointless. The market was bearish last night on tons of stocks. This a sign for next week?

At least you got a broker before you started. I got mine about 7 months in due to issues. My advice; paper trade for a few months. Focus on study. When you use real money use the minimum amount $. That way only fees can really hurt you. Increase amount as you get better. I'm new so feel free to ignore. Cheers. GL!!!!!

sound advice. I'm not much for logic when it comes to money. Emotions take over. I will paper trade for as long as I can before understanding.

@MarkAus Hey mark, in OX when I am using streaming charts and hit "full screen" like you suggested, the original page gets stuck and doesn't navigate to another page. Does yours do this?

Unfortunately I'm not tech support. *cry* Try other stuff I said above. Be sure your harddrive isnt too full (10%free min). Recommend an SSD harddrive.... Update all drivers. OX is a web based platform so your issue may include other websites. Internet too slow? Dust in laptop?

Lost a little messing around with VLTC last week. Its now close to hitting $10. LOL Had a feeling it would keep going up but this is crazy. People are expecting a crash but I dunno... If the billionaire who bought it plans on doing what they do, business, then it could go way up. Who knows?!?

VLTC seems to be unable to hit new resistance levels. Could be time for that crashs peeps are talking about? Think I'll play it safe and watch.

Big sale on Profit.ly going at the moment. I tend to ignore them as my money is tight as hell however maybe there is something there you would like? I wouldn't pay full price. Currently Reading: Reminiscences of a Stock Operator by Edwin Lefevre....... I'm hooked. @TheLincolnList mentioned this one and it's a fun read. Edwin was great at his stocks but lost it all many times over trying to play with the big boys yet persisted, learned and I'm guessing makes it big. Good read so far.

Time for some fun: Can't trade this week so I made a WATCHLIST... UNXL - This sucker has been going up on no news and bad news. Sat reports are very bad news yet its at a new high. Scary stock. 2Y chart shows a slow death. I think it will die but when? I'm curious. VIMC – Can't break support (3 times over 3 days) and is fading. My money is on shorting....VLTC - I think this money maker has one more spike to go but its scares me. It keeps exploding!

I like checking my watchlists in the morn... UNXL - The "No News" wonder. I'm guessing a pump but I have no emails on it yet it spiked twice to new high. Ha! VIMC - This is my fav. Spiked in the morn but then died. Doubt I would have shorted.... VLTC - "The Monster". It's still scary. Jumped twice at start and end of day. You're mad to short it.... Glad I went to bed. Wouldn't have stayed up long enough to trade VIMC anyway. FUN!!

Haha VLTC totally ran leagues more than I ever thought it would. I am so impressed by Tim Grittani and Nate from making BANK off it. Also Modern Rock. I hadn't even noticed UNXL and VIMC.

Although I read Tims Watchlist I also make my own. Still learning and have found good plays but with all the broker annoyances I have I'm yet to turn my stats positive. Gah! Currently studying up on DVD's but next step is to get a Scanner to find charts. I'll post more once I have something.

Have you tried using finviz or Equityfeed? Finviz lets you search charts.

WOOO!! Another week of trading!! Except for me. I need to add more cash to my broker because I'm dumb. Despite that my long Easter break is now over and its back to work 9 to 5. My goal was to get some experience with my broker (and study more), that has been completed and cost me nearly $200 in silliness. Now I need to concentrate and try to get my account into the green. Fun times ahead.

"OptionsXpress is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois". --- I was advised last year by OX support that their rules were different to the US laws and were based off Australian laws. Turns out this is incorrect and WIKI confirms it. My account has been "downgraded", to put it loosely, due to breaching the PDT rules. I wasn't aware I was effected by it. So, be aware, if you use OX you need $25k + in your account so you're not effected by the PDT rule. I'll be adding funds Monday so I can get back to some hands on learning. Call them to confirm if unsure.

Just had a read of this strat @sentinelgroup.com.au. It's very interesting. My friend at work knows tons on Options. Ill ask him about it. Looks like if you buy a big chunk of shares cheap you could go to town on it.

I dont have any links I didnt learn it from the net I did many courses and years of pratice and trial and error covered calls are fairly simple and low management with about 3-5% returns per month not the big so called returns on trading but that is if u can get em at least this way u hold a big blue chip shares and if u got 50k theres a wage of 1500 -2500 a month more than enough for thailand

Cheers Mav. I was just after some definitions to understand it better. Investopedia had good explanations. It's a good plan and something i'll look into as well later thanks to you. I'm not greedy, just want to stop the "9 to 5 career" thang.

thats the way same as me i aint into materlistic crap i just want income for freedom and travel,also if you go to asx.com.au they have some examples least you can learn for free i paid thousands to learn what i know,bhp and ncm pay some of the best call premium and ncm is going really good now and will be a great long termer for me
