Wow. Great insight, Palmer. As always, great post, man. I, too, appreciate all the tips and advice you give for new traders. Can't wait to see video either. Thanks again for all you do !

[TimAlerts] Shorted $ASTC from 2.8, covered at 2.5 with IB. Thanks Tim Sykes to teach us shorting.(muscle)

Thanks....great information. Especially the 300 alerts. I will have to look for that. I don't think I have ever heard him mention anything on those and personally I think its very important. I appreciate all your comments and good luck trading!

I also get distracted by the chat room and end up ignoring the tickers that I've studied and prepared for. This post puts some things into perspective for me. Thank you.

was wondering if it was waived with commissions... definitely worth it then. thanks

@alikhans4, @ironmiketyson86 Do I need to always keep minimum $10,000 in IB a/c to trade? I am planning to open an a/c soon.

@maroon8 you don't need to keep the minimum of 10K, but there are activits fees. If you go under 2K, the activity fee gets high. I believe it's $30/mo

@ironmiketyson86 Thanks!

@Bustos987 Hello, I am planning to open an Interactive Brokers account. Do I need to always keep min $10,000 in that account to trade? Or is it only a requirement for opening the account? Thanks in advance.

Im not sure to be honest. You may want to call them to find out.

Ok. Thanks.

Have you found out yet?
Go for IB a/c if you have $10,000 ready to deposit. Otherwise use Etrade. Scottrade has cheaper commissions but they don't have good executions.
stockstotrade....with Tim
If I were just starting I would go with IB and http://stockstotrade.com/ I am currently using IB and Etrade for my data, but I will probably get STT one of these days.
