This is the one that stings the most. But, I will take it as the most valuable lesson. I never should have opened my account this morning because my head was not in the game at all. My mood was Friday = profits. But, that panic got me after the open. And I mean panic. Had the change to close with min damage at 4.60 and ignored it. Then the REAL panic set in. Blood on the field from my soldiers dying in vain.
Entry comments: Following James A recommendation to buy some calls on a good earning potential Call by Sept. He believes in it. So, why not. My little ALLY account needs more food in it to grow.
Exit comments: Lesson learned. JD sucks and long options are dangerous because you get nothing if they expire
Entry comments: Well, here is another fine mess James has gotten myseslf into. Really should have taken the loss early on. But, geez, really? Looks like a major funds tie up in a week unless a miracle happens
Exit comments: Closed this disaster before I got all my buying power tied up for a month! Could've made some call sales in the next month. But chose on getting out of this. Whew!
Entry - Put out the alert to not go above 4.60. Price was already at $5 on the news. Thought it was a non get, but the price came back to 4.65 and I FOMO. Got at the last minute of the day. Holding for $5.09 Exit - Price in premarket is 4.14 and dropping, Good news on Friday from what I saw. The earning were good, but the earning conference didn't mention the Walmart partner news. got out at $4 with a valuable lesson learned. FAKE NEWS and no confirmation
Okay, clearly the name of the game is take what the market gives you. And yes, I exited way to early. Could've waited until Monday and WELL into Monday to capture a 2.50 price. I am taking Tim's advice of being a scared trader very, very serious. Since I'm new, starting small and practicing. I have a lot to learn.
Using Tim's Weekend trade strategy for the first time and really blew my first trade. HAD the $2.39 price on Friday and should have closed out then. Over the weekend action was not sustainable... and there was a price chase on Monday which I couldn't capture in time. Lesson learned, take profits when they are given.
