[TimAlerts] Everyone, the $TVIX is simply a 2X leveraged ETF (Exchange Traded Fund- kind of like a passive mutual fund that trades like a stock that tracks an underlying instrument) that is a way to trade the VIX or volatility index. You have to be careful with 2X or 3X leveraged ETFs because they have options to create the extra leverage and time decay can become a factor and erode the value. They are very volatile and in a sideways market lose value fast.
