Recap for last couple of weeks - I haven't been trading much, busy working overtime and saving for more trading money. Ive attempted to start trading a bit off of my phone while at work. At first I was so uncomfortable with the idea that I couldn't bring myself to do it fearing that I would lose and lose badly. The more I used my phone to look at charts (STT Mobile) and trade (IB APP) I began to realize that it is not as bad of an idea as I thought. I just have to make sure that I only take the 5star plays. Because if it goes bad it goes bad fast with very poor cell service and sometimes not being able to get to cell service if I have to do some jobs in a pit at the coal mine. So far I am profitable trading from my phone at work over the last couple of weeks. And I've only traded a few of the days and after taking a couple bad premarket trades. I have found that I trade my best when I have less than ideal trading conditions, it forces me to be extremely selective and prevents me from overtrading. I have also found that I trade my worst when I am optimized and have a second monitor with extra charts and chat rooms up. Being optimized I overtrade, chase alerts, and have zero discipline. Its very interesting how my largest win was made while I was at work and could not look at my phone to watch every tick. I could check on it maybe every 10-15mins which means that if I am going to take a position I had better be certain it is going to work. This means I trade less but make more. Trading is an interesting mental challenge and I love it.
