Impulse post eh? i'm canadian so i know what that means LOL! i TOTALLY see your point about timing the entries and exits. NASDAQ has scared me out of trying to time those as it seems random how many mini bounces there will be until the real one (i've seen them get up to three or four minis until the real rip). Keep at it bro. you'll definitely find the pattern while i'm still looking at OTCs. my selfish response is: i hope you keep posting your findings. you're bridging the learning gap for us n

@GreyKnight first off im glad that this helps :) but yeah i used to get shaken out of stocks all the time (i mainly trade nasdaqs) It has really helped buying at KEY support just like Mark Croock always talks about, that way even if you're wrong you can get out for a small loss or even small profit.

@Greenspan see sedar.com and search for Titan Medical, check their Aug 7 filing (TSX: TDM). 7,679,574 units sold at $2.50 each with one share and one warrant to convert at $3.20 on Aug 10th... hence why stock crapped out at this time. Well researched @Huddie! You are a legend!

@GroundUp not sure what you have against this guy. Just because he isn’t posting his trades on Profitly or coming out with material it doesn’t mean he lost everything. All I know is that mason is one smart dude and knows what he is doing. He will definitely succeed.

Lots of good nuggs of wisdom here. I'm almost 2 months into the challenge now and glad to come across a post like this. It's refreshing to see some long bias, everywhere I turn it seems that people want to drop the hammer on stocks-ha! I can see where you are coming from with understanding the mindset of a short seller to help with long setups--Spikeability and Short Stocking have given me some perspective on this, as well as SEC filings and the book the art of short selling by kathryn staley se

way up into the .40's then crashed down into the single digits in about 10 minutes. I was new to penny stocks and had never seen anything like that happen before. But I was sure it was going to come back because it was there once already and why wouldn't go back there again. All the news was really good and there were positive PR's coming out all over the place. I was dollar cost averaging on the way down thinking that with more shares I would make my money back faster, which actually just made

it all the worse. I held the whole time and the stock never came back. I lost over $25,000 all on HOPE and inexperience! The pump and dump, (the what?), was really on and the promoters did their jobs very well. Like I said, I was knew to the pennies and never heard of a "Pump and Dump". Well, I knew what a pump and dump was after that! Anyway, that's how I lost my virginity.

@RichieRichW what a story... sorry to hear man. It really all comes down to cut losses quickly! Add to winners, NEVER losers, and never hold and hope.
