@b_m0rt I've been messing around with a robin hood account with $60 lol that's why those gains are so small. I'm trading with an Etrade account now so I definitely do need to worry about commissions.

I used to think of it that way, but i've changed a little bit. I like to think of it, if i have a 1000 share position, for every penny change, i will make 10 dollars or lose 10 dollars, or if i have a 200 share position, for every penny change, i will make 2 dollars or lose 2 dollars

@Quintero77 If you're referring to the settlement, with instant it takes 3 days to settle. So, you won't be able to use that money until it settles.

@Avafa Yes you can trade as much as u like, i know because i used to have regular robinhood. and it says it on there FAQ.it says "Pattern Day Trading rules only apply to margic account(instant); a customer trading in only a cash account will not be designated as a Pattern Day Trader. Got it right from there FAQ

First You need margin account .2nd your broker has to have shares 3rd) Best example I can give you is EBIO , I shorted 2000 shares on Wed and I covered ON Monday : for this trade I paid

$20 commision + $40 hard to borrow fee (APR was 99%) and also keep in mind for shorting stocks under $2.5 you need to have $2.5 for margin requirement . For shorting 2000 shares Ebio at $1.50 you need to have $5000=$2.5*2000

One rule i follow is : don't hold overnight. Especially if you are covering the 2.50 rule through margin. ALSO, i recommend entering the position a pullback.

@Justinian77 Really? I thought a buy and a sell was one trade. Thank you for clearing that up!

@iJasonR , 1 trade is a round trip, buy and sell = 1 trade, if you are unsure in etrade about this, go to Accounts - Balances and it tells you how many trades you have left and how many trades you have performed

you can call etrade if you haven't used ETRADE pro and they will give you a free trial if you ask. if you execute the minimum trade amount during the trial you won't have to pay. I have never paid the fee to this day
