End of Year thoughts: I had some wild ups and downs this year, its been a good year overall, but it should have been a lot better. i had 4-6 big losses that set me back, half of them were avoidable/I should have cut my losses way earlier. But I learned a lot from those trades (now i just miss a lot more shorts because I'm too cautious, but when i nail it, its solid.) I have a good feeling about next year and everything to come. really anyone can do this if you put the time in.

I can't upload my $RXMD trade because i got in it so long ago, but i was in 114k shares at .023, and i sold with a .24 average, made almost 25k on the trade

@aheckler Hey man congrats to your success, been trading a little over 2 months, I have HMM and pre bought the trader chekclist,I have only been going long but want to start getting my feet wet with shorting, any pointers or extra things I should be watching, or should HMM shorting instruction be enough? thanks ahead of time if you respond.

for whatever reason my XNET short is not loading from friday. shorted 3k 12.24 covered 11.21
If you keep 100% equity on your short then you don't get charged interest. ie. you have $2k in your account and you short $2k of a stock then there is no interest. Also, E*Trade does not charge interest for intraday shorting, at least that's what they just told me.
Is this for real??
This can’t be right.....
They seem to be doing things not kosher. I know they have a lot of leeway with margin accounts but I am getting charged almost 60% interest on my short position, skyrocketed about 5% per day over 30 days, this seems usurious? Also, they keep playing with margin req's; went from 30% to 60%, this morning jumped to 90%??? Then 3 hours later back to 60%. WTH is going on? I smell lawsuit.
@aheckler what is the most essential piece of advice you could give someone who is starting to trade?
I sat and watched the market with out trading for a long time and would make a trade or two a week. But i watched all day. I never paper traded. I just kinda went for it and figured out what worked. But watching stocks during market and videos online helps. Eventually i realized most things end up falling majority of the time so i started short selling mostly. Its just a matter of finding the top
i would recommend at least registering and watching the videos, theres a lot of money to be made here
