@aheckler do you prefer etrade or IB to start shorting?

I use etrade, i like etrade for the most part, but you can't start a short under $1. I recently opened IB but haven't funded it yet, its better for shorting pennies though and usually has better borrows. but trades borrows are decent.

@Jaimed10 Okay thanks for the tips but for now im going to stick with robinhood, I dont have enough money to be spreading out to a bunch of different brokers. My issue is again i need to know what tools you use for charts and real time data? I cant trade until i get that solved.

Thank you for the info but what other tools are there? I can't find any. Obviously E*TRADE pro but it's like $150 a month

Tdameritrade does not have a minimum required and the Think or swim is excellent (TOS) it's free. E*Trade has propriety software and it's free with a minimum amount of quarterly trades 30trades minimum in 3 months i think.
