Happy 6 month anniversary to me! Today marks 6 months from the date I started my journey. What I'm doing rather than trading right now: I finished up collecting longterm and intraday charts with my trades marked in arrows (one color for in, one color for out) on them. (all 300+) I fixed all my time errors from early in my recording days here on profitly. The times are now accurate on each of my trades (at first I had a hard time with converting military time and from eastern to mountain time. I also went over my excel sheet tracking my trades and fixed any errors. I am now going to start on organizing my 6 months of paper trading data to determine a few things. I got a laptop that I will be setting up for optimal trading capabilities. I will use my desktop for a bigger picture when I am able to. I'll report back once I've crunched my numbers.

Good to see your doing some detailing. sometimes we have to slow down just to get the basics down best of luck in your trades.

@SKYisDLimit You definitely need to collect data before you can even figure out the details. I think that 6 months will show me a lot.

i'm at 6 months too. also not anywhere i thought i would be. the one thing i need to do but really am hesitating is printing my trades from my broker and owning up to the losses. and also trying to identify the few trades that i did perform well and figure out if they were luck or is that my strong area. good luck to you.

@Noble1222 Data is key to determining if you've found your edge in all your flounderings at the beginning. I wish you luck with your deeper delvings and your continued journey.

Beginning to focus my energy and efforts to buying only multimonth/year breakouts with catalysts like earnings and such. Not the greatest execution just yet. But, I realized I can only try to add one thing at a time in this process. Practice makes perfect. Getting closer...

In case you're wondering, my name changed because I recently took my husband's new name. (He had his changed after many years of wanting to.)

Saw firsthand what an "overnight" financing can do to a stock. MBRX had excellent news of "cancer treatment breakthrough". I knew that kind of news could give a stock a second green day. BUT....duh duh duh! Financing. Important Lesson: I now have a new rule-If I am to be in a trade overnight I have to look into the financials of the company first. I'm implementing all the things Tim has said into my trading a little at a time. Trading is certainly the best way to see the lessons in action and really have it drilled into your brain. I may have a choppy profit chart right now, but that's okay. It's a process and I'm getting better and learning every day. Never give up. I know I'll make it.

If I could trade after hours I would probably have gotten out of my ZN trade already with a decent win. I am just going to have to ride it til morning though....*bites nails*

Starting the tedious, but worthwhile process of inputting all my trades from the last 5 months into a spreadsheet so that I can see a clearer picture of my progress as a trader. I'll add to it every day from here on out so that I can find patterns in my behavior. Profitly is great for being transparent, but I am ready to get deeper into the nitty gritty of the numbers.

I tried adding charts to my trades for the new year...doesn't seem to stick. Wasted about 20 minutes trying to add them. I guess it's not meant to be...

KODK: I believe that these fast moving stocks with news catalysts (Cryptocurrency hype right now) make for the very best "1st green day" overnight plays. I congratulate all those who were at market close yesterday to grab up this opportunity. (I was at doctor's appointments and visiting my neighbor who had a heart attack in the hospital.) However, I am grateful to have witnessed this opportunity as it was a valuable learning experience to me. I did manage to play it yesterday a bit, but also watched it all morning. HMNY could very well be the next...(if it can go green on the day)

@il023109 this as a journey rather than "making it". I believe that this is a very valuable way for someone learning to trade to go about it. I will not be trading from my real account until I feel like I have reached consistency and found patterns that work best for me. I am learning a lot about my personality and learning to be patient without the added anxieties of trying to be perfect.

@asfricksrs Very true. I am happy to be patient with the journey. It's abundantly clear to me that the market is changing enough to always keep opportunities coming if we just pay attention.
