I almost took about a $180 loss after 10 a.m the price and volume faded and i sat there watching my money go bye bye. i know stocks tend to fade midday so i set a mental stop and waited till after lunch. fortunatly it paid off and i sold to soon. i know it can get hectic when your in the red but try to keep emotion out as much as possible especially when your making money. keep at it though small losses can be great lessons.

I can't believe you lost on EYEG. It was the perfect setup! There was the dip buy in the morning, followed by the ~1/2 pullback in the reversal period which happens ALL THE TIME. then once it broke the the daily high around 12:45 PM should have been an indicator to go for it. I mean, they had a + deal with Valeant!!

I mainly trade momentum so my strategy is a bit different. I often don't look to dip buy, I look for bull flags along with other momentum patterns.

profit loss for the day or profit loss since you got in the position i think.. use live support on think or swim theyre pretty good

I think it's a loss too, I tried the live chat but I'm not getting a response. Maybe that is because I'm only doing the paper trading right now.

I use the thinkorSwim platform and yes the P/L open is the profit or loss since you got int that position. P/L open is the profit or loss for the current day. Red means your down green means your up. If today is the first day you took a position in the stock then your P/L open, and P/L day will be the same. if you have any other questions about think or swim i would be glad to help out the best i can.

If think or swim was accurate (I've never used it) but mathematically P/L as you describe it is a ratio. you haven't indicated a color of the numbers and P/L are rarely in ratios because a number over one means you are winning and a number under 1 would mean you are losing.

making a profit then going to the gym, or coming by and practicing on the wooden dummy upstairs. You're going to have more physical freedom as well. Once you're in the rinse and repeat stage, the options are limitless. Didn't Tim train with a UFC guy even? I personally can't wait to tell my work goodbye, After 20 years in aviation, and 6 of the Navy, oh man the Earth will SHAKE when I gain my freedom!!! Until then I just stalk my prey/Know thy enemy/use my internal force/help others/create posit

/create positive flow. See what I mean I could write a novelpedia lol. What Tim is doing around the world, I wish was there to help because I know where he is coming from and I've been dreaming of doing that for over a decade. Things like cancer and AIDS have gone on without much resistance for far too long it's time for some good to kick A and not bother taking names.

ok I'll stop, again sorry for the rant bud, I just wish you the best, know every trade!

Dont be sorry at all, i appreciated what you wrote i am always willing to see things from anothers perspective. I look forward to whats next

I canceled my Netflix subscription. If I go to the bars I stay for a few hours and dont drink much. Everyone gets mad at me, but i dont care. Even tho Im not making $ yet, Its in my sights. I tell everyone that says "oh thats not for me" or "its too hard I could never understand that" I laugh and tell them its just like college. You dont know anything about physics but you start with the basic and at one point in time it starts to make sense. Baby steps. If you the chance read the book Turtle Tr

true grit brada..true grit :}

Don't feel bad I have 91% of my portfolio on one symbol its the only to hope for a profit

Be careful I just learned the hard way there is no such thing as a sure thing I am now a bag holder in TENX until march or I recoup 70-80 percent of my losses.

I am trying to remain careful, and stick to cut losses quick. Ive focused on pot stocks an rode them as theyve ran. Its a booming industry but i still treat penny stocks like im just using them for profit. I dont expect the next apple, i treat those penny stocks like hoes hit em and quit em.

well recently ive been trying to balance running heavy equipment and trading on my phone at the same time, which is how i busted a window out of the compactor my last week lol. Ive been focusing on marijuana stock thats where ive had my best results. I hold from a few days to 2 weeks, I started with 1k and i dont want stagnent money. I invest in a stock that i believe will be higher by the end of the week its alot less stress that way (for me anyways). For example i bought MOSY @ .237 and watche

Don't listen to any negativity man. Just others imposing their own fears on people with actual balls. I'm in the same boat and it's not been easy but guess what? I'm studying my ass off all I can because this is what I want to do and I want to do it well. Respect brother.

How about using a trailing stop loss to allow your winners to run more?

I could give that a shot as well, ive never used the trailing stop before ill expirement with it .

I can definitly say this job has taught me a few things, alot about perserverence and its given me a superhuman immune system as well as the ability to stomach smells that no man should. But on a serious note i appreciate the positive energy, and i look forward to seeing where this goes.

"Make every day a day for learning and investing in yourself. If you want radical results I believe you must put in a radical amounts of effort." Well said. Two weeks ago I quit my nursing program and now taking twice as much time to study for this. Passion resonates through words and actions. Keep up the good work!

awesome bandit, taking that leap of faiith
I did the same thing! I've been here for 149 days! Haven't traded as much as you but hey it's all a learning process. I'm proud of you bud keep moving forward!
Hi Phipps, I hear where your'e coming from. One suggestion, why not try opening a Roth IRA account? I started trading a couple months ago with Ameritrade on a cash account and recently opened a Roth. From my understanding, you can trade at will with a Roth, but won't be taxed on gains when tax day rolls around. You can take out an amount less than or equal to your contributions (max 5500), if need be, but any money you gain in the account is tax free. Just some food for thought. Happy trad
*happy trading, lol
Good Luck!
