Don't mean to be down on your success my man but i took a look at your short positions recently and although you won that is a lot of leverage. On one trade you bet 59k to make only 6k. Just be careful the market is a bitch recently and i have seen R/G action in seconds. GL my man.

@lombardo141 I dont use much leverage but that pattern i know VERY well and i added on the way down.. i was never in the red. if it started to go against me i would get out right away.

@mrsunny @PoolShark what are the pre-reqs to short? I too hve a scottrade a/c but not sure how one can start shorting?

mrsunny
mrsunny Apr 27, 17 4:57 AM

@april4 You need to have a Margin Account and Scottrade only allows shorting stocks that are $5 or higher and not all stocks can be shorted. On several occasions my short trades were not approved and got canceled may be due to high-volatility and non-availability.

I shorted this one this morning at $12.73 and it kept going up; had to buy more at $13.24 to even out and finally when it started to come down around $12.55 it reversed all of a sudden and head all the way up to $13.35 or something but my stop loss exited at $13.20; At this point I am down $450; I attempted again and this time shorted at $13.20 and exited carefully at $12.61 and $12.51 in multiple intervals. I recovered my earlier losses and some extra change. It was little challenging though.

@mrsunny nice comeback but maan is it really worth it? my only advice would be to use smaller position size and cut losses quicker, thanks for watching! :)

@mrsunny No problem and thank you. Actually my DAS Trader platform was down pre-market, so i got screwed. Went from 1.5k profit to just over 200 profit by the time it came back up. Could have been worse I suppose!

@BoutBenjamins Thank you for your response. I do use RSI, MACD & Stoch along with Price & Volume to determine my entry & exit points. I am always looking to learn from successful trades such as yours and you did it nice there!!!

Great video. Thanks for sharing. Can you tell us like how did you identify the Entry & Exit points?

BoutBenjamins
BoutBenjamins Apr 23, 17 9:53 PM

I identified the points by letting the RS be my indicator of coice to tell me when to enter & exit, but you can use a collaboration of things too such as price action, volume, news etc. Google stock market indicators and read & study them they will help you excel in your trading.. Hope this was helpful..
