Good Luck, you're doing it the right way in my opinion. Lots of unforeseen obstacles which deepens the learning curve jumping in live without experience.

@GreTa how to get rid of 20 min delay in TOS?

GreTa
GreTa Apr 26, 17 12:37 AM

@april4 In you TOS Platform, click on CHARTS, then go to your upper right hand corner where you see SETUP, click on the WHEEL, then click on APPLICATION SETTINGS, scroll down to SYSTEMS, click on that, and then click on QUOTE SPEED, select REAL TIME (no delay). Try that first.

@april4 If that doesn't work, call them and ask for Real Time Data on your Paper-Trading Account, they're usually happy to Oblige, but first try the steps above, it will only work if you have a funded TD Ameritrade Account.

Days to cover short is just a ratio. YOu divide the short interest by the 100 day average volume and the resulting number is the number of days it would take shorts to cover if only shorts were buyers and they all covered. Anumber under 5 not much difference. From 5-10 and a catalyst it should add momentum to the trade. Over 10 and a catalyst and let the fireworks begin

@charliehebdo cmon man. It's simple he bought and sold at a higher price for a gain. Therefore, thats a long play not a short.

@donebeingpoor thanks man! I am honestly doing this for my personal benefit because at the end of the week I replay the week by going through my notes and screenshots. However, if this helps other like yourself then even better! Glad to know that you like it. Late day on Monday I caught terrible allergies that caused me to miss the market on Tuesday and missed a great play on ZPAS #5 pattern! UGH lol Anyway...I'll be back at it tomorrow morning.

The U.S. Alternative Uptick Rule The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has issued a rule to restrict short selling under certain circumstances. Under the alternative uptick rule, trading halts when the market price of a security declines 10 percent in one day. Once triggered, the rule remains in effect for the remainder of the trading day and all of the next trading day. The restriction does not allow a short sale to occur at a price equal to or less than the highest current nationwide of

Hi Phipps, I hear where your'e coming from. One suggestion, why not try opening a Roth IRA account? I started trading a couple months ago with Ameritrade on a cash account and recently opened a Roth. From my understanding, you can trade at will with a Roth, but won't be taxed on gains when tax day rolls around. You can take out an amount less than or equal to your contributions (max 5500), if need be, but any money you gain in the account is tax free. Just some food for thought. Happy trad
