Yep the best play here was the reversal pattern at the market open. I was watching this stock at market open. Your entry would have been the first green candle to make a new high

Oh that can also be referred to as a red to green move which tend to usually run just not on this stock unfortunately

@Arussell125 Hi Arick, I could see in your YouTube channel that you are using TDA Ameritrade with ThinkOrSwim. Is the ThinkOrSwim platform for free? Thanks

@alealvarez you can paper trade with real time quotes, you have to call and ask them.

Hi @GreTa Thanks for that, today's morning I realised that my PaperMoney account at ThinkOrSwim was very delayed. I will give them a call and ask for real time quotes as you suggested. Thanks for your information Guys :)

I think if you have a balance of more than $25,000 with TD Ameritrade they give you the Thinkorswim platform for free.

I don't see a good reason why you would buy a 17$ stock for a small gain and small position...only way that play is worth it is if it is a supernova like DRYS or ETRM. Stick to volatile stocks 🤓😃

@bearbear I know but yesterday it made a $1.30 move and I hesitated on a 17.25 buy which would've been a $200 profit

@bearbear I look at the range before I buy a stock. This had good range. Just went in too early.

you like buying the break-outs don't you @Chongette32? I do too.

Pandabear Jan 09, 17 9:28 PM

@GreTa I haven't traded for over two weeks. Just been studying like crazy. But yes I like trading breakouts but only on dips. I'm not good at buying U-shape breakouts unless it's a cup and handle

Yeah me too, haven't been doing as much trading, I'm thinking of going back to paper trading for a while.

@petwyt1218 I'm trying to say is Paper-Trading is good for honing in on some skills and good set-ups especially with Momentum Stocks, which what most Day Traders like to gravitate to.

@GreTa what paper trading software can i use that gives real time quotes ?

Arussell125
Arussell125 Jan 10, 17 7:12 AM

Think or swim but you need to have at least $10 funded into a live account and then you can call them and get live feed on paperaccount, thas what i did so i wouldnt have the delay

@zuwa Think or Swim and Aricks right be sure to call them tell them you want Real Time Quotes on your Paper Trading, because if you don't will get a 20 minute delay, I think that's what turned me off Paper Trading initially because of the 20 minute delay, what I didn't know is you had to call them and ask for real time quotes, and also ask for real time quotes for your Live-Trading, because sometimes their platform is set as a 3sec delay, so be sure to call them and ask them for REAL-TIME QUOTES

Thanks for the quality post! Really helpful for newbie like me. $ETRM today is exactly what u say: low float, new news, and breakout at market open and it run to the moon. Should have focus on this kind of play too.

@GreTa I should've told myself that this morning when I hesitated. lol. You see it clearly in hindsight. I've watched some of Ross' videos. He loves buying right at the open and makes most of his money in the first 30 mins of the open.

Yes he does, I've only ever played Pull-Back just once, with $XGTi, I might wanna start incoporating that into my Strategy, along with Bull-Flags, U-Shape, Pre-Market BreakOuts, Reversals etc.

It would matter if you can research Pervoskite mineral and who makes solar panels out pf Pervoskite. Apparenty OXM do the research of the mineral, but the word is to long the maker. Big rise, panels are like 100 % more efficient then anything now on sale. Tesla has roof tiles from Pervoskite.
