for sure my broker sometime won't let me buy certain penny stocks. So I tend to look at stocks from $5-100.

Sounds like you are doing the right thing- Playing within the limitations given to you. Your profit trend is heading upwards, so keep it going. You are doing great!

Thank you slowly but surely. I had a trade get away from me today thats a short. I will see how tomorrow plays out as the stock went up 40% so I believe most shorts already panicked and got squeezed today.

Be careful trading in class though. I did that in college a few semesters back and trust me when I say anything can affect your trading in that environment. Emotions run wild when you're under pressure which inevitably affect yur trading results. Nothing wrong with paper trading from class though to get your feet wet.

@TopNotch what account size did you start with?

I've funded it little by little but essentially I started with 5k. My account just broke 10k so I will be switching from TDAMERITRADE to InteractiveBrokers. I always trade on margin though to help out with my small account

I agree with Kyle, Finviz is excellent and has search capabilities. You don't need EquityFeed before your making money. Etrade also is free if you exceed a certain # of trades per month. Call them ask how many trades you need to do for FREE. Its also free if you trade with their basic platform and use TD Ameritrade to chart with which it better anyway. If your paying more than your making you simply going in the wrong direction.

I use etrade for making trades but thinkorswim as my platform. I received an email from etrade the other day telling me I can use etrade PRO for FREE because I made my 30th trade of the quarter. Hope that helps

Yes if you make more than 30th trades in a 3 month period they will void the fee for you. I have it for free because of that I've had made more than 30 trades already in this 3 months. However my account its for only 500 dollars and my losses has been around 146 bucks including the fees and all that and i can say that from every 5 stocks that i buy only 1 of them its a gain.number one rule in this game Cut losses
