Well. Maybe just input manually. A screen shot goes a long way if you feel the need to prove it. Do you have an overseas account? Not US right? That could have a lot to do with it, if so.

IB normally uses weekends to perform server maintence. If you cant log into the website or TWS, the "problem" is with IB. Just try again later

I have been at the same place you are at right now. What I have is 4 watchlists: 1 index watchlist, 1 sector ETF list, 1 "Close Watch" list with stocks I want to keep under radar, and a Top Watch one that, as the name says, holds only the stocks I will focus at.

I usually set alerts around key prices and forget them

@redwolf90 How close do you set your alerts toward target? A % or certain number away? Thx

Usually about .05 away from breakout price but if it's constantly testing the area I'll put it like .15 away just to make sure

I have the same CPU,Ram and HD as you and I constantly have bugs using STT, cancelling it and going back to old faith full TOS.

Wakko
Wakko Feb 18, 17 5:58 AM

Isnt the charts in different time frames? Looks like STT is 2 minutes and IB 1 minute. I use both (TWS and STT) and candles always look the same when using the same time frame.

I'm using STT, just paper trading. It's a complete platform with everything you need contained within it. From that standpoint it's great but it has a tendency to crash every now and then. I know it's just getting up and running but I believe that the bugs will eventually get worked out in the future. The problems to me are not big enough to want to cancel. I'll be taking my computer to a friend to do some updating so we'll see how it helps to perform better.

Hope it works out for you, it's definitely an awesome platform. I may return once they get the broker integration.

Have told you before to buy" How To Make Millions DVDs," if you buy it you will avoid alot of problems, plus you will educate yourself a great deal. If your trading without a strategy/structure, time will unfortunately get you.

To bypass this I opened another broke account through my dad so I can get 6 trades versus 3. You are just hitting the PDT rule which doesn't allow you to place more than 3 trades within 5 business days if your account holds less than $25k.

The Best advice for Cezzar, is to get a good base knowledge of the Market by Studying , papertrading, starting small .. And following the Rules! A vast majority of people trade right outta the box fail extremely fast. The Market is Unforgiving and will give no Mercy. I honestly have lost count of traders that try to Real trade first they always blow up the account.... By your questions from a trader to another Please be patient and learn more your not ready yet give it some time.

I paper traded for nearly two years prior to Real trading.

Options...if you loose, you loose way less using the same position....just my 2 cents. In any case, IT IS a degenerate play.... :)

You can't be serious. How is buying a stock on the way up lotto? I never said I was buying the stock on hopes of M&A. I bought it because it has been on the uptick and a surge in options for Feb and March are being purchased. Just seems logical to make a few hundred off it.

I already use a strategy with AAPL to trade options and another with SPY. I already backtested both "the old way" in a 180 days period. Im focusing on learning how to write my own codes for strategies and scanners.

Lots to learn but that will keep my away from overtrading or jumping into trades that I shouldnt...lol

Right on, the program I'm using in the video is called Quantshare. The software if pretty dated but for my purposes I think it'll do fine. It uses Easy Language and even has a wizard. Kinda reminds me of command line from back when I was working on Cisco routers.

I'd use Trade Station but it's my understanding that they don't keep data for equities.

I am also interested about this question. Suretrader seem to have a lot of negative reviews, so i would avoid that with all costs. Interactive Brokers seems to require a minimum deposit higher than my current available balance, so if anyone can help with an International Platform i will also be really greatfull!

Have you checked with Tradestation and TD Ameritrade?

mkth
mkth Nov 27, 16 11:10 AM

Tradestation requires 5000$ deposit also. About TD Ameritrade i have emailed them with a couple of questions and waiting for the answer right now.

Great post. I feel the same way about trading. That's all I think about. I even visualize certain charts before I go to bed. Sad I know. lol. And I visualize myself with a black maserati with red leather seats. I think it also helps before you put on a trade to visualize in your head how you're going to do it so you can think objectively.
